List of Known Problems (ParsNegar II)
For Version 2.12
[Last updated on August 29th, 2004]
The following is a list of known issues with version
2.12:
- When installing or running ParsNegar your told that
it is only supported under the western version of windows. But your are
already running a western version of Windows XP.
- Cause:
Your Windows default
language is not English or one
of the western languages. ParsNegar will only work under the western
versions of Windows and the default system language must be one of the
western languages.
- Fix:
Under XP, go to the Control
Panel, Regional and Language Options. Make sure under
Languages tab and the Details... button, you
have English or a western language selected as your Default input language.
Or try going to the Control Panel and then the Regional
and Language Options. Then click on the Languages tab
and remove the tick from Install a files for complex script and right
to left languages (including Thai). This will remove the Arabic
(Farsi) files and should restore your system to its original English
identity. Try ParsNegar and it should work.
Here is the instructions in PDF format.
-
Hint: If the instruction do not resolve your
problem, then you may have installed some thing that has modified some
critical Windows files to make it report as Arabic/Farsi Windows, which
ParsNegar can not work with.
- ParsNegar reports version 2.10 after installing
version 2.12.
- Explanation:
The version of the actual software is 2.10
but the distribution version is 2.12. If it
is installed as ParsNegar II (version 2.12)
under Start > Programs
menu,
then that
is version
2.12.
- Entering vowels causes a break/space in the words.
- Cause:
Known bug. Caused by changes made to Windows 2000 and XP. We have
fixed this problem by making changes to our fonts.
- Fix:
A fix is available which requires replacing
ParsNegar's fonts with updated versions. Go to Windows Fonts folder (in
Control Panel). Locate Persian Web, Arabic Web, Urdu Web, Kurdish Web and
Assyrian Web fonts (you may not find all of these) and delete them. If you
have trouble deleting these fonts, reboot your PC and try deleting them
before using ParsNegar. Now go to the download section of our web site
and download and install the fonts you have just deleted. For other fonts email us.
-
Hint: To check to see if a
font has been downloaded and installed successfully, find the font in
Windows Fonts folder and double click on it to open it. The version should
show 2.00.
- Letters do not stick together any more! This
happened after I installed FontPack form the CD-ROM.
